    FiNe
    EDAMIN

This is thread #4 of Development levels, focused on the FiNe type.

    SPECIAL NOTE:

The creation of this thread –and the purging done in the process– brought to light dozens of mistypes, and in many ways marks a (re)discovery of the FiNe vultology. This will all be explained at length in the post at the end of this thread titled “The Great FiNe Purge”. It begins to give proper form to what constitutes the FiNe vultology, which has remained one of the most ambiguous until recently. The diversity of vultologies found in the old database’s FiNe’s was so severe that mistypes ranged across every energetic quadrant. What we are left with now is a much smaller, but far more pure set of FiNe samples.

The FiNe demographic is now comparable in size (~20) to the TiNe and TiSe sample group. It seems that real FiNe’s are rather rare… just as Ji-leads tend to be in general. What follows are the known categories of development as of now but do keep in mind that the whittling down of the FiNe samples also leaves much to be desired and this thread will be somewhat incomplete, but continually growing as more real FiNe’s are discovered. Here we go…!

    Notes:

    1) The annotations (l—, ll–, lll-, llll, l–l, l-l-, l-ll, ll-l) signify function consciousness, with “l” being fully conscious and “-” being subconscious or unconscious.
    2) I do not have an explanation for the lack of male samples of this vultology, as no deliberate efforts were taken to omit their presence. Thus one would imagine they have a hypothetically equal chance to display this vultology. Hopefully a larger sample size or further studies may identify what factors are at play in this.

    FiNe l— Seelie Female

    Spoiler:

    Compilation (watch full screen)

Here we see what the FiNe looks like with just the first function conscious. There’s an exceedingly passive, recessive energy at play as well as a giddy bashfulness and reviser doubt. The body hesitates, the eyes dart around, there are long drawn out pauses between sentences or words, and a strong sense of privacy that is also simultaneously delicate. When they retreat inward, it does not neutralize emotions (Fi) but instead augments them in a personal way (Fi).

These four above have a very consistent vultology, and I was happy to see that consistency. It’s far more introverted than I originally thought, but it’s perfectly in line with the TiNe analog. Indeed, FiNe l— is highly comparable in vultology to the TiNe l—. Here is an (exclusive) video of me back when I was TiNe l— to compare to:

The l— Ji-lead is exceptionally recessive.
And I think this operates as a very functional baseline from which to build forwards.

    FiNe l— Unseelie Female

    Spoiler:

Now as a contrast, here we see Julie who has a bit more Te ‘snap’ to her movements than the other samples. Her voice is also more pinched, but her energetics are still highly contained (Ji)… and include reviser doubt, eye-toggling, etc. What’s curious to me is that her ego appears not to rest in Fi, but instead in Te. She would be FiNe-Te l—, and is most proud of her success in her competitive career in aviation. This is the other side of the FiNe: their Te. It’s not uncommon for FiNe’s to excel in technical careers, as we’ll get to further down.

    FiNe ll– Seelie Female

    Spoiler:

    Compilation (watch full screen)

Here we see the full spectrum of reviser energy, including bubbling momentum, a lightweight swaying, perk ups and a fluidity of motion. It’s subtle at first, but quite distinct from the l— development above. In this ll– we see the body still retains a Ji “core” which the body returns to after every movement. The head and arms may venture off momentarily, but always deflate back to an inactive cornerstone. This is the key difference that separates it from the NeFi ll–. Compare this development against the NeFi ll– below: Purge post…)

As you can see, the NeFi’s movements roll from shoulder to shoulder, swiveling from side to side. The arms flail out more and with less deliberation. Moments of pause are intermissions, rather than a return to the norm. Inversely, the Ji-lead posture always still carries a semblance of premeditation, and everything returns to an invisible –yet delicately held– vertical line positioned along their spine. I realize this is a qualia description, but I hope it helps convey the difference? Here is a GIF comparison between FiNe ll– and NeFi ll–:

    FiNe:

^ Here we see a starting place of Ji …a transition into a P sway… and a return again to Ji

    FiNe:

^ Here we see a more complicated set.

    a) First she starts in Ji…
    b) Then Pe sway + Je juts…
    c) Then takes a breath in Ji mindway through the GIF..
    d) Then Pe sways…
    e) Then lands back in Ji

Lets compare this to the movements of an NeFi ll– to parse out the differences between these two types as keenly as possible:

    NeFi:

^ Here we see Ji energy clamping down native Pe, and making it stutter.
Regina’s Ji is not a place her body is returning to, but an energy that slows down her tempo which is much more quick to excite itself. Her arms and fluid, her head rolls from side to side. The overall manner of her body is not jutting forward (J) but leaning left-to-right. This is a helpful distinction a lot of times. J-leads will tend to have a forward focus to their movements, while P-leads have a lateral focus to their movements.

    In summary:
    FiNe:
    – – Returning always to a core
    – – Forward Focus
    – – Intentional Hands
    NeFi:
    – – Clamping of momentum
    – – Lateral Focus
    – – Casual Hands

    Psychology

    Topics of interest include:
    – Vulnerability
    – Authenticity
    – What is Truth
    – Philosophy (Existentialism)
    – The Human Condition

These four have a lot of psychological similarities. Kimberly tackles topics such as religion, philosophy, selfishness, consciousness, and art. She is a singer. Kailia is a typologist who likes to explore the interiors of others through personal interviews. Recently she’s gotten more bold and opened up to the topic of vulnerability. Pine is into all of the above, as well as poetry, love/intimacy and lots more. Meredith Godreau, like Kimberly, is a singer and her songs also revolve around love/intimacy and being authentic to oneself. While the subject matter has some crossover with NiFe’s, it’s far more focused on individual self-expression, the personal mission to discover one’s truth/reality, and to embody that uniquely through art and philosophy.

    FiNe ll– Unseelie Female

    Spoiler:

Zoe Kaiser is a lot more sassy with her expression and lacks the typical seelie energy, while retaining a strongly Ji-lead posture. She’s also a typologist and is focused on the self/self-discovery, although she’s removed many of her former videos. Ciscandra is also an artist; one that embodies the dark feminine aspect. Here are a few images of her:

    Psychology

She is a princess. We see a strong idiosyncratic style, tones of darkness (she is submerged) and melancholy. She displays some of the primacy of the human soul through her songs and music videos, being unashamed of chaos and pain. She’s also a very sensual creature, which is a motif I’ve identified with Fi. It’s not just Se that creates a degree of sensuality, but Fi does too by virtue of it’s contact with the emotional register.

She wears a lot of eye makeup and puts on enormous wings to make her eyes appear sharper than they actually are. Still her dynamic movements appear Ne, from what I can tell of her limited footage.

    FiNe l-l- Seelie Female

    Spoiler:

Here we have Ingrid, who is doubly introverted. It’s difficult at first to tell if she’s not just l— because it’s hard to get any more introverted than the l— baseline! But there are differences

    FiNe l—
    – Ji energy
    – – – return to a core
    – – – micro-jitters
    – Reviser doubt
    – – – Very light swaying
    – – – toggling

    FiNe l-l-
    – Ji energy
    – – – return to core
    – – – micro-jitters
    – Pi energy
    – – – inertial sways
    – – – less toggling
    – – – sense of certainty (not doubt)

Si adds a “settledness” to the energy. The look of confusion is replaced with one of “knowing” and an aged maturity. Conscious Si keeps the Ji poise but takes away the reviser energy to some degree. The vultology appears calm, collected and forward facing, rather than child-like and ephemeral. Compared to the above FiNe’s Ingrid seems like more of an “adult” or a mother, and this is because of senex energy.

Yet it’s not so strong that we would cross over into SiFi territory. So here is where a demarcation must be made. (another spoiler; Fred Rogers is SiFi!)

^ notice the absolute inertia of Mr.Rogers. He has no Ji energy, or core. His eyes remain fixed forward, his every head shake has a gentle confidence to it, and he appears all around like a Wise Old Man. There’s a creamy, conductor delivery to his nods and juts. This is a conductor energy which Ingrid has a little of, but nowhere near this level.

The core distinction between FiSi and SiFi can be made, once again, through the presence or absence of that Ji “core.” Ingrid, despite having that settled energy, is still deflating back to a private core every few seconds. Here is an example of the differences via GIFs:

    FiSi:

^ Micro-jitters.. leading into a head tilt… and then a Pi eye-drift with Ji disengagement + light toggling
It’s hard to see, but her Ji disengages down are being combined with Pi eye-drifts, so that when she goes into herself, she partially also remains open-eyed. But her energies are still very much receding from the environment and into a private place. We can compare this to Mr.Rogers:

    SiFi:

^ Pi eye-drift… Ji momentum halt… then another Pi eye-drift with a fixed gaze forward

Here we see what a moment of Ji looks like when sandwiched between two Pi signals within a Pi-lead. You’ll notice that Mr.Rogers never loses his composure, and his entry into reflection (Ji) is marked only by a slowdown of inertia, but not really by a disengagement of the eyes or a loss of condcutor energy. He remains ever settled, confident, mature. Now this is very very subtle but take another look at Ingrid’s GIF… and watch how at the last second of the GIF, Ingrid gives up her composure. She’s being mature but at the last second, she enters into reviser doubt. There’s a genuine re-evaluation and a suspension of expertise as she goes into herself. Her eyes do a light toggling action, and her head tilt is more inquisitive than Mr.Roger’s.

    Psychology

Psychologically, Ingrid is also very much a Ji princess. Most famously, she was referred to (in an ill way) as a princess by one of her fellow hostages when she refused to be stripped of her dignity and stood firm by her identity despite living captive in the jungle for years. While her fellow hostages were willing to cooperate for the sake of survival, Ingrid would sink her Ji heels down in moments of entitlement to life although it risked upsetting the guards and punishing the whole crew. After her release, she ultimately feels that is what helped her stay alive.

On a more personal level, she believes her home country needs to change their ways as a nation, but that the change must start from within their hearts. This is a very inside-out (Ji) approach, rather than an outside-in approach like what we see with Je. Ingrid is Catholic, is very fond of her family, her roots and also shows an appreciation for little Si comforts too.

    FiNe l–l Seelie Female

    Spoiler:
This development is under revision, and not properly represented.

    Compilation (watch full screen)

Here we see what an appropriate level of Je development looks like in the FiNe.
This is comparable to what we’ve seen with TiSe’s and TiNe’s that have a developed Fe.

The body remains recessive, delicate and poised, but with exerted Je pushes coming out, as well as a lot of attention placed on articulation.

    Psychology

Psychologically, these two are not the most matched to their vultologies. I’d expect some type of engineering talent or science focus, but instead both are into more individualistic and intimate topics. This further verifies what I’ve suspected, which is that ego varies separate from development. While they have developed Je, they are both Fi ego.

Here are just some of the topics in Claire Wright’s personal blog (click to enlarge):

    source: clairecrystalwright.wordpress.com/
^ As you can see, there’s a heavy focus on the self, knowing oneself, living by one’s light, and creating peace on earth.
I was most surprised to see that she also covers topics such as “Dis-identifying from pain” and “The Void” which are things I originally felt to be more Ti, but Pine has recently illuminated me to the fact that this “deconstruction of impurities” also applies to Fi. There is a vector to eliminate whatever isn’t essential. And Ti and Fi have different definitions of what is “essential”, but both seek that essence by the removal of noise or obstructions.

Vashti is quite similar to Meredith Godreau in the fairy-like nature of her songs, which touch upon the troubles and experiences of being human. Both of them have a very similar style to their music. Airy, whimsical, emotionally charged, melancholy, private. Both speak about relationships but also about the experience of living.

    FiNe ll-l Seelie Female

    Spoiler:

Here we start to get into the FiNe’s power. This vultology is double-extroversion within a Ji-lead center, so it represents the most energetic an FiNe can get. I had to check and double-check to make sure these weren’t mistyped because they come awfully close to TeSi’s.

Susan Cain is, I believe, introverted (as she famously claims of herself) but is modulating her function to the max. This itself makes sense considering that is her testimony. She talks about going into law (Te) and “trying to be” more extroverted, and coming up short. We can compare this vultology to another Ji-lead ll-l in TiNe Amy Cuddy:

^ As you can see, both have that J-lead “core” structure, plenty of Je gesticulations, while retaining reviser energy, and simultaneously being quite buoyant (Ne).
Coincidentally, Amy Cuddy is speaking to Susan Cain in this very talk.

    Psychology

Both of them are great IRL friends and share a lot of similarities. Amy Cuddy also struggles with being “present” in a world dominated by outer performance, and has had to train herself to be more animated. In essence, both of these women are operating at the modulated extreme of their potential, and at the same time speaking about that very topic. How to be more engaged. How the world demands so much participation. How to appreciate one’s alone time better. Etc.

It can be very challenging for a Ji-lead to “make it” in the world without a heavy amount of development, as Ji is not the most equipped to be productive or contributive to society. Ji-leads may face criticisms of being inefficient, ineffective, ghostly and recessive. But this is an example of the vultology that results when they rise up to the challenge.

    FiNe l-ll Seelie Female

    Spoiler:

    Compilation (watch full screen)

^ And here we see a different expression of 3 functions conscious.
This represents a different extreme, where Si+Te are both conscious within an Fi-lead, making them the closest possible to a conductor Delta.

Notice how there’s a subtle difference between these two and the aforementioned ll-l development level. Susan Cain and Amy Cuddy have a “jumpy” energy to them, which these two lack. Instead, they are just like Ingrid Betancourt in that they are settled, well paced, and relaxed. There’s a maturity to their movements that is not rushing into things, even though there is plenty of Je. And unlike the l–l developments, they are not glitchy or stuttery. This is because Pi removes that reviser doubt, and Je+Pi together exude confidence and coordination.

Yet, we still see a delicacy in Arianna Huffington’s gestures, a “core” they come back to, and a habit of gently receding into herself.

    Psychology

Huffington is very telling in her psychology. Just like Susan Cain and Amy Cuddy, she too was over-modulated for most of her life. She talks about experiencing “burnout” and collapsing from trying to attain the success-driven Western lifestyle. It’s through these efforts that she presumably developed her Si+Te functions.

Yet, a deeper analysis of her interior reveals that she is quite the Fi advocate of the feminine. With books like “The Female Woman”, “Maria Calla: The Woman Behind The Legend”, “The Fourth Instinct: The Call of the Soul” and “Gods of Greece” — she exemplifies an appreciation for the primeval soul. These are her earlier works too, which is important to note. As she got older she got more business minded until she eventually turned her attention to overthrowing the Te systems of the world. (“How to Overthrow the Government”)

She embodies the Edin myth and it’s antagonism against the dark side of the Edar myth; the impersonal machinery of society. Power games. Dominance. Industry. She advocates for a consideration of one’s personal health, personal value and dignity. A “prioritizing” of the individual, and the body’s needs. Again we see echoes of self-focus, at the expense of Je focus.

    The Great FiNe Purge

The FiNe sample count has essentially been cut in half.
Upon reflection, there was one common theme found. FiNe’s were originally being typed/identified by the presence of seelie energy and radiation. The core assumption was, more radiation = higher Fi priority. This turned out to be false. We saw this in the TeSi threads where seelie/unseelie was necessarily decoupled from Fi>Te or Te>Fi. But as a consequence, any “super seelie” type was previously assigned as an Fi-lead with little regard for their energetics. It pains me to say even the most iconic FiNe’s in our database were wrongly assigned. Here are some of the notable casualties:

    NeFi Mistypes

    Spoiler:

    NeFi ll– Regina Spektor

    Comparison:

^ Here you can see the clear resemblance to our member Janis, who we know to be NeFi. They’re actually twin shades!
This sheds a lot of light on the extent to which NeFi’s can be seelie and Fi-like.

I know you guys are gonna hate me for this, lol I partly hate myself for not seeing it before.
This is quite a paradigm shift for me since Regina Spektor was my “go-to” totem for FiNe since forever. Back when my database was only as big as ~30 samples, she was the only FiNe I felt confident about. So this had remained an examined assumption for a long time. “More Fi radiation = more Fi priority” and none was more radiant than Regina Spektor to me. But I was just relying on seelie energy without considering her energetics. I assumed that “Fi radiation” caused a degree of fluidity, so that explained the lack of rigid Ji posture. But this was an incorrect rationalization.

All the other correct FiNe’s do have rigid posture, and their psychologies also match the Ji temperament and focus a lot stronger.

    NeFi l— Aurora Aksnes

    Comparison:

This one’s not even Fi development!!
I had been suspecting she’s NeFi for many months now, and this is the moment of truth to finally confirm/deny it. It turns out she’s standard-development NeFi, and it becomes very obvious when reviewing the NeFi vultology thread. But this sheds a lot of light on the musical and artistic range of the NeFi female. The quintessential “Dreamer” is Ne+Fi, more than Fi+Ne. For example:

^ Here we see Puella energy. Aurora is a Puella Aeternus, a “magical girl” more than she is a princess. She is floaty, flighty and unbounded by gravity. Drifting away wherever nature takes her. She has a powerful dose of Fi too, and an Fi ego fix, but she is a child at heart.

    NeFi l-l- Evanna Lynch

    Comparison:

There’s absolutely no comparison to the FiNe’s. :-X
She’s double extroverted, now that she’s grown into her personality.
Like Regina, she was a very early sample. And the original typing of her as FiNe came from a video when she was ~11, and I think that influenced things. Once again, seelie energy was used as the marker, rather than taking everything into account. We’ve come a long way since then.

    NeFi l-l- Eric Cornell

So in this revision Eric Cornell, Drew Endy and Brian Cox (all thought of as FiNe at some point) ended up being NeFi scientists.
And joining the ranks of Einstein in the NeFi = INTP pattern. This seems like a really strong trend, and it requires explanation.

    Upon reflection I realized…
The focus for them isn’t on the self (identity), it’s in exploration. It’s in mystery, and cosmic wonder.
I may have been deeply wrong about thinking Ji/Fi can be re-purposed to make sense of Te meticulously.
Instead it seems to be a combination of Ne experimentation + Te systematization that constructs the physicist. I haven’t thought about this completely yet, so these are preliminary speculations but I’m open to anyone’s ideas.

    SiTe Mistypes

    TeSi Mistypes

    Spoiler:

    TeSi l-ll Joe Rowling

    Comparison:

It turns out Rowling is TeSi! ..and this would have been more surprising a while ago, before we discovered the TeSi grandfather shades. But now she fits neatly into the category of TeSi fantasy storywriters such as J.R.R. Tolkien, George Lucas, James Cameron and Gene Roddenberry. We also see this reflected in the sheer volume of her works which, like many TeSi (like Tolkien) spans thousands of pages. I think ~4,000 in her case. Again FiNe’s are not quite that fond of articulation (Je) or narrativism (Pi), but instead on identity-finding and embodiment. Rowling’s vultology clearly exceeds the level of Je/Ne that we see even in the most extroverted FiNe’s, as she has a very expedient rattle, forward accentuations, etc.

Part of what was interfering before is that she has flat affect (and more severely in the past), which is due to conditions of her pre-fame life that are well known. This caused a heavy wounded expression on her back before flat affect was a signal. It also caused a slowdown of her energy. But now that she has been successful and is not as heavily submerged, we can see her natural energetic level very clearly.
