R-1 Rigid Posture

Author: Juan E. Sandoval Cite
First Published: January 26, 2018, Latest Revision: December 14, 2023

Visual Description

There is a stiffness to the spine, a contained profile of movement to the torso, and a lack of spontaneity in motion. The person speaks from a centered place, with minimal swaying or leaning of the body.

R1 Rigid Posture

Cognitive Etiology

The spine remains rigid as a visible reflection of a rigidity of mind. Cognitive rigidity is binary in its thinking; reasoning in terms of true or false, right or wrong, do or don't-do, stop or go. Thus, rigidity moves only when movement is approved (typically in linear vectors) or it does not move when movement is not approved. It is "robotic" in this sense, and "in control" of its body.
