I've noticed that I tend to be a victim of scams, and many times I feel like such an idiot because I miss all the red flags and end up giving away so much money that it hurts. How do I stop doing this? Is it because of my Seelieness (Fi)? Or is it just my own personality? Because my parents didn't raise me to be like this.

Yes, I think that, frist off, people in general are more likely to be suspect of others potentially doing the kinds of bad things to them, which they, themselves can or have done to others. Since it's very familiar and not so far from their minds. So as a seelie Fi user (which I have been, and still do have some seelie energy, although the overall net balance is more unseelie), things like scamming innocent people, taking advantage of people's kindness or naivety, that kind of thing, is pretty polar opposite of our own nature. So we're not really expecting it. Because it just seems so screwed up and strange and antithetical to our morals to think about doing, that we're likely to be caught off-guard when people do.

Yes, your absolutely right, it goes against our values and we would never do that kind of thing.

I think knowledge about cognitive functions can help you analyze your weak points but to support them you need more than that.

Se make people to be immersed in present moment. This can work like enviroument of casino when you don't have windows and when you are playing you forget about outside world and future consequences of betting real money and then you are left only with game. Some psychological mechanisms halt your ability to recognise when to stop and leave the table in right moment. Rather they fuel your engagement.

"The best lack all conviction, while the worst; Are full of passionate intensity."

    - William Butler Yeats

That's why Pe function work with Ji function. It's like constant movement coexisting with constant halt to balance each other. But Fi is hard function to master. This function can make people impulsive and blinded (to the objective criteria).

Every function have strong and weak points. I think strong side of Se is realism and practical thinking. But when someone with high Se is stressed or unfocused then unconcious Ni can take the wheel to fulfill unmet desires. Se see a lot but on short distances. It can don't recognise context/pattern/long term consequences sometimes. You need to think about how to adress this shortcomings.

That way of reasoning we can apply to every function in respective manner. Sometimes we will use (and create) inner resources and sometimes we can use outside resources (ask wise and trusted friend for advice to stimulate our reflective thinking).

    Dear Peter

Yes, I think its even more so my Se that causes me to only focus on the present moment, instead of thinking of the long-term consequences (Ni) or listening to my inner conviction (Fi) telling me that something isn't quite right about the situation. I have had small arguments on social media or in real life with strangers who annoyed me, but my parents taught me to never engage with these arguments because it may cause me harm, or it's just not going to matter a few years from now so why waste time on it. My tertiary developed Te probably also fuels my Se to be overly impulsive and give away money in the heat of the moment, without pausing or halting, though I'm still trying to figure out how I can relate to my Te.
