Vultology Class & Inter-Rater Reliability

I'm very happy to announce that the first ever official vultology course has been completed, and we now have a first group of certified vultologists!

Not only that, but the passing members were able to achieve from 90% up to 97.5% consensus in a blind test, involving 10 randomized samples worth 4 points each! This is the highest scores we've ever seen. A pilot study is being put together, detailing the specifics of the final test (which doubled as an inter-rater experiment). This will be released in the coming days.

I'm overjoyed with these results, as they demonstrate the vultology code is teachable and scalable, and therefore viable as an instrument to be used institutionally. This is very difficult to achieve, as it's easy to create a vibe-based typing system that cannot be taught and reproduced in controlled settings.

Having seen the success of this class, I will continue doing more classes this year, and help train others in the method.

The criteria for passing was set high, at 90% agreement with either my score of the group consensus, to gain certification. Nevertheless, 4 out of 10 test-takers passed, after 6 weeks of training and discussions. And even for those who did not meet the threshold this time, all scores were at or above 72.5% and the group average was around 85%. And I believe those scores can get even higher, as this was my first class and I learned a lot along the way.

This credential number and listing index will ensure, among many things, that the public can identify who has been trained in the method. Akin to a board of pharmacists or doctors, the registry helps ensure authenticity and standards of excellence are sustained as vultology grows into the public sector.
