SeFi lI-- Seelie Robyn

Hi everyone! I've been compiling unofficial reports on some of my favorite artists / public figures, and now that the codifier is complete, I thought I'd share some of them! I am not an official typologist or vultologist, so please keep that in mind! I'd love to hear your thoughts on Robyn, her vultology, and this report 🙂
Robyn is one of my all-time favorite musicians. She has a very unique sound and career trajectory, and blends all the best parts of contemporary pop, 80's / 90's dance, and her own emotional experience into fantastic music. She has been active for over 20 years as a musician, and was a product of the American / British 'teenage pop star' machine of the 90's, despite being from Sweden. In the late 00's though, at around age 30, she broke from her major label and decided to start her own record label. She is now 40 years old, still making incredible dance music, and has released two full albums and numerous EPs since she started creating her music independently.
So first, let's take a look at how she falls on the J / P axis:

P eye-centric + P subordinate judgement.

P casual hands + P eye centricity.
While we do see some Ji disengaging eyes here, I would like to point out her eye centricity and eye-toggles, as well as the fluid and non-exact nature of her angular hand motions. This last point implies subordinate judgement, as she attempts to use some J-like signals, but ends up doing them in a P-like way. I believe that Robyn leads with her Perception axis, and more than likely leads with Pe.
Now that we know she is a P lead, let's see which of the P functions she leads with:

Se gravity effect +Se pointed eye toggles + Ni raised outer edges.

Se pointed eye toggles + Se bodily awareness + Ni raised outer edges + Pe bubbling momentum
It is of my view that Robyn is an Se user. We can also see that she has raised outer Ni edges to her eyebrows, and not just while raising them, implying the presence of the Se / Ni axis.
Now that we've covered her P axis, let's investigate her J axis in order to determine her full type:

Ji disengaging eyes + Fi wobbling lips + Fi resting tension.

Fi wobbling lips + Fi excessive contempt + Se casual hands + Te sassy emphasis.
It looks like Robyn is an Fi user with some Te signals mixed in, and thus belongs to the Se / Ni + Fi / Te gamma quadra.
We see now that she is an SeFi. In the source videos below, we can hear that she also has an airy and sprite-like speaking voice, as well as a very distinctive, giddy laugh. This, along with her general bright, faerie-like, and somewhat shy nature, lets us know she is seelie as well. Or maybe just Swedish (kidding).
I also believe that she is of the ll-- development. She has a lot of Fi and Ji in her vultology, and while her posture isn't completely rigid, it seems more rigid than that of an Se lead of the l--- development.

In the last interview listed, she directly mentions FiSes Kate Bush and Prince as being inspirations for her, which I thought was an interesting point!

Another interesting point - Both Robyn and FiSe musician Adrianne Lenker (of Big Thief) spent their entire childhoods on the road with their preformer parents. This lack of security interests me. Beyond the intrinsic nature of personality, when are the non-intrinsic pieces of personality solidified? Are they both gamma revisers because their parents are both gammas, or because of their similar childhoods? FiSes Micheal and Janet Jackson also had unstable childhoods, and were groomed for musical fame from a very young age, as was Adrianne Lenker. Robyn started writing songs at 11 after her parents divorce, was discovered at age 14 at a school assembly, then was pretty immediately thrust into holding her own in an 'old school music industry full of sharks.'
These people all showed a proclivity for music from a young age, and were then quickly scooped up and made to make that music so someone else could profit off of them. Adrianne Lenker's father never succeeded in making her a pop star, and she grew up in abject poverty until she got a scholarship to Berkley to later be discovered on her own terms, the Jacksons were famously abused and groomed for stardom by their father, and Robyn spent almost half of her life making lots of money for a record label that she felt was 'very oppressive.'
While I didn't have the lives that these people had, I also showed musical and creative aptitude from a young age, as did my (unconfirmed) SeFi brother. Is the story here that FiSes and SeFis tend to show their creative tendencies early on, and that sometimes this early talent is taken advantage of?

In the first gif I think you meant subordinate judgement, right? 🙂 I think I see it there too, I'm curious what Auburn might think. I'm not great at seeing subordinate judgement and subordinate perception.

Yes, it looks like it, I honestly always encounter the same problem when I am trying to use Te. I actually noticed it's easier when I start from an Fi point and move to Te than when I start from Se. So for example, I bow over the table, fold my hands together and then attack forwards with my hands and head. Which overall has a better chance to hit than the Pe->Je moves, at least in my opinion.
But what she does here seems to be usually Pe->Je or Pe->Ji & Je.
I can also see the gravity effect signal - the way she lets her hand fall down. I think that is a very good example of this signal actually !
I'm not sure about Se bodily awareness and I think maybe we should talk more about this signal. This was brought up in the chat too. When someone scratches or arranges something that should be arranged, is it bodily awareness? How do we discern between a genuine move we make because it's needed, that an Ne user would also do, and bodily awareness ? (question for @auburn here but I don't want to pressure you with a lot of questions...but here for example, I think an Ne user could have done this move too). This might be a new thread too, it just came up twice today, so I thought I should ask.

After watching the videos, I also think seelie and Fi conscious. She has a wonderful feminine fairy like energy, I love it.
Her hand moves are pretty meticulous and "spidery" here, though I know they wouldn't quite qualify as the meticulous hands signal according to the current Codifier.

She also becomes rigid at times and disengages down a lot.
I just saw one of he albums is named Body Talk, which I think is very fitting for Se & Fi psychology. It's funny I find these little connections when it comes to other SeFi's but I'm completely blind to them when it comes to myself. :))
Oh, this song is so telling of Persistence Effect, isn't it? And of Pe revolting against Je, I guess. 🙂

We should totally try to type more famous people on our own and then discuss our typings here and see what others think ! It's a wonderful idea and it can only help us learn vultology better. <3

@bera thank you so much for the reply! Haha I did mean subordinate judgement, my bad! I flip-flopped the terminology!
I was thinking the same thing about the moment where she scratches her nose too. I would think anyone would itch an itch that needed itching! She does it in this kind of super fast, not thought out way though, which somehow to me points to Se. Like, her whole body is moving with this momentum, and she doesn't stop at all to take care of her itch, just kind of throws that move in there with all the other ones she's doing. I can't quite explain why it gives me an Se vibe, but it does! Very valid point regardless 🙂

 Are they both gamma revisers because their parents are both gammas, or because of their similar childhoods?

My personal opinion is they are gamma revisers because their parents / grandparents etc were also gamma revisers and that this is why they also traveled around so much with their kids and why they encouraged their love of music/other art forms. Because they themselves, as gamma revisers, loved art and travelling and didn't find it odd or uncomfortable to move around constantly, as they lived in the now themselves. But this is just how I see it, I'm curious what others think.
I had the most normal childhood. I never moved to a new city till I went to college. But my dad stayed in another city for 4 years and me and mom used to visit him pretty often and also we went on a lot of trips together.
Also I guess moving is in my blood, I tend to get bored of every job in 2 - 3 of years and I also start to feel like I need to move from a city to another more than other people seem to do. I just moved 3 times till now (once from my hometown to a bigger city, where I went to college and started working and the second time I moved to the capital, where I found a better job).
I am already thinking of moving back home, I'm just confused where home is. 🙂 Is it my hometown or the city where I studied and where I own an apartment? I'm not completely sure. 🙂
I realized how moving very often could be damaging when I saw the last episode of Game of Thrones, thinking of Sansa's story line. Her story made me reconsider my tendency of moving from one place to the other, because I have done exactly her mistake of going to the capital in the South, thinking I will find happiness and recognition there and wrongly believing everyone is as reliable and well meaning as my own family and our close friends, which has lead to a lot of hurtful experiences.
So, the thought has emerged - what if I could go back home and thrive there? What exactly does it mean to be home and how much does it matter to have the support of your family and the connections your parents have built before you were even there? To build on / around something that is already there and not start new every couple of years?
I think this can be part of the development of our lower functions,  Te bringing practicality and Ni a stronger connection to the past. It can also be part of the process of growing older. It might be the case that for some of us journeys are meant to be circular and to bring us back home or that at some point even though we don't return home in the physical world, we do so in our hearts. <3
Regarding the bodily presence signal, yes ! I totally agree with your observation. We should maybe look for Ne users who show similar signals and compare them to Se Bodily Presence to see the differences easier?

@bera wow thank you for sharing! This is a good example of the Pe / Pi myth of Home & Adventure I think! I have a lot of similar stuff in regards to moving around / wanderlust / not being able to hold down a job / relationship / friendship / etc. We're explorers at heart! Or maybe even better... explorers of the heart 🙂 It's funny, I've just settled down a few months ago with a partner of mine into a shared home, and we're already talking about moving out to somewhere cooler once our lease ends hahaha. We've even started looking at prices in other cities, even though we both love living in Chicago! In fact, they (my partner) just moved here from Colorado two years ago, and before that they grew up in Los Angeles. Are we doomed to just pinball around forever and every once in a while dream of putting down roots? hahaha
