CT Forums is a psychology discussion board created to facilitate conversation across all topics between the sixteen cognitive types. It aims to create and maintain a high-quality learning environment, promote self-discovery and to connect people of similar vultologies together. But first a few special notes about the nature of this site:

1. Getting your type assignment?

• A) The type under your name is not editable through your profile settings. Since type here is defined as a visual classification, read by trained vultologists, it will be given to your profile after an official reading. Upon purchasing a visual report, your forum profile will be updated with your type and development results.

2. I’ve been Typed, but what does my Type mean?

• A) At CT we are primarily concerned with grouping you together with people across the world that share your expressive profile — under the hypothesis that the more similar two people’s vultologies are, the more similar their psychologies will be. But all the details of what that inner experience is like have yet to be written, and we would like your help in describing it. We have written some material already in our 8 function profiles, but please bear in mind that these are the broadest possible descriptions and may not match your specific 1/1024 development. Each variable in your development slightly alters the experience of your functions, and a unique function description would be necessary for each specific development. So the best way to discover what your type means right now is to interact with those in our community who share your exact development, and help us create our 16 Type Manuals. As our community grows, those belonging to a given visual grouping will themselves write the profiles of their subjective experiences which will then be used to inform the wider/global typology community. Thank you for your support of this experiment!

3. Can I change my Type?

• A) Type and development cannot be changed by members themselves through user settings. There are several reasons for this, primarily that:
  • i) This forum aims primarily to gather a collection of people with shared vultologies, with no necessary commitment made as to their psychological similarities. We are still discovering how accurately vultology can predict psychology, and uncovering this question is largely the purpose of this forum. Thus, we can consider this forum a type of laboratory where the hypotheses laid out by CT may have a chance to be put to the test. But this can only happen if type is assigned in a controlled fashion, so that we can have an opportunity to unravel the interplay properly.
  • ii) While CT aims to predict psychology, its classification is first and foremost a visual/audio one. Type is assigned by visual report rather than personal report and should thus be changed through a proper reconsideration of the signals initially used for classification.

4. Addressing errors in typing?

• A) While we always try to be thorough and accurate, the vultology team's assessment is not infallible and type can always be openly discussed. However, please consider one of the two following modes of commentary:
  • i) "The vultology report does not match the CTVC, and is a visual misread"
    Since the primary purpose of the analysis is to match a person to a set list of signals, type in CT means an alignment to that visual standard, and a mistyping is a misalignment to that standardized metric. Type can therefore only be properly contended on the grounds of it being inaccurately reflective of that standard we set in place, as that is what type is primarily taken to mean in the CT system.
  • ii) "The vultology report does not parallel with the theorized psychology"
    In a different situation a person's vultology is accurately identified according to the CTVC standard, but does not match them to the psychology of others within the same visual grouping. This may represent an entirely valid criticism, and should it be the case, the website authors will take measures to amend the psychological definitions and/or re-evaluate the parameters of the visual system if enough mismatches accumulate in that vector.

Additional Forum Features

Networking & Matching

• When you visit another member's profile you will notice a "Match" percentage on the right hand side. This number calculates how similar you are to them in your expressive profile, with 100% being a 1 in 1024 match -- essentially making you twin shades, or vultologically identical strangers. Please note, however, that this is not necessarily a measure of romantic compatibility. Some may have a romantic preference for individuals who are opposite of their own temperament or some mix in between. We do not yet have any literature regarding inter-type relationships. This feature exists as a quick and convenient way for members to see who in the world is more like them by CT's measurement criteria.
• This feature can also be accessed through the Members page by clicking the  icon on the bottom-right corner of a member.

Username & Display Name Changes

• On registration the first part of your email is used to create your login username. This should remain static, but if you wish to change it, click the gear icon to the top-right corner of your browser:
  
  Next, down below your avatar hit "change username" and select your new name. Your username should only be changed once, and abuse of this feature will lead to its discontinuation. For all further name changes, please use the "Display Name" changer by going to Profile -->Edit-->Name.
