Yes ! Exactly ! There is a certain way of thinking that is not very easy to explain, but you expressed it very well here :

I found this to be the case in making collages and in reading tarot. 🙂 Certain images belong together. And this will be confirmed by at least 2, but usually more bridges/connections. When I see one, I already strongly assume there are others too and usually I can confirm it soon after. For example if I saw a lion in card 1 and I associated card 4 with a story, there will be a lion in that story. If I don't remember, I simply assume there is one and check and for sure, there is one. So, they belong together.
In collages 2 images belong together for me if they correspond thematically, look nice together and something from the first one continues in the second one. As in - the cloud in image 1 is part of the snow in image 2. The branch in image 2  is touched by the hand in image 1. They need to be in the right position, have the right colors...then usually I see the first bridge/connection, then the second, third, etc. There is never just one, because they actually...really belong together. It's a fact. Not an impression/a question of taste/interpretation. Or at least this is what I perceive them to be.
In everyday life I tend to experience this especially when I'm in nature. It is usually a chain of synchronicity in which disparate images and sounds come together and have a specific meaning. I don't always get the meaning, sometimes I just see the pieces of the puzzle but I can't read their message. 🙁
It can also be that moment when you finally get something. Like a social trend or a historical event.

I am also curious about Se-Ni vs. Ne-Si dreams myself.

I'm curious both about possible differences in structure and about dreams where the functions could appear personified. I once dreamed of my Ni as Death and another time of my  Te as a crazy guy who wanted to be my boyfriend and attacked me and cut my cheek. :)))
I think there should be 2 threads. One about the archetypes and one about how the dreams are built.
