    I'm very trajectory oriented. I had a music career at 13, which only got fucked up from very serious illness which nearly killed me and left me speaking in a whisper permanently at age 16. Still, I sang lead on my album in my 20s, through my whisper.  I gave more than my all to get that project together.  I cannot even begin to describe what it took to get that tiny sliver of a sound out - constant dieting, avoiding socializing in a loud room, vacuuming every day, working out, practicing just the right amount but not too much, surviving in a dangerous city with an illness by myself.. I can't begin to explain.
    At this point I'm writing an incredibly complex fantasy series, and I was a terrible writer when it comes to the actual use of words, but I had this vision of a world in my youth and I need to manifest it.  And what I'm doing requires tremendous persistence.
    I wrote my first full songs at age 8 and first 400 page books at age 11. I knew these were the only things I would do in my life. I don't take on extraneous interests; all of my studies and interests, including typology, have been connected to these two main focuses.
    I also wrote my 'soulmate' into my first novels and dreamed of him before we met. I recognized him in @Ivory and now we are married. I had described everything about him down to the wire. I knew exactly who and what I was waiting for.
    I've never lacked in the visionary-focused-persistent department. In fact, I'm wired so strongly that way that not even speaking in a whisper could stop me from singing.  Not even near death chronic illness could stop me from staying on this path. Any side job I get, is in support of this path.
    I never doubt or question my trajectory. I was born with an inner knowing about what my purpose is and where I'm headed. And when I lost my voice I did deep dream work and psychic work to reconnect with my purpose. I realized I am more than my voice; I'm a vessel through which passion emerges, and my life mission is to polish the vessel, meaning to hone skills so I'm fit to channel the visions of my home planet. 🙂 And I'm not alive without that sense of purpose.
    I can appreciate that others are more open ended; I'm not judgmental. This is just how I am built. Where my purpose is concerned, I have a cosmic connection to it. An inner knowing. It's impossible to break that connection; I couldn't if I tried; and believe me, I tried.  When I lost my voice, it would have been easier if singing was "just one of many options" - but it was the only thing I could see, or had ever seen in my life.  I gave up my whole childhood for it.
    This is why I have trouble with Pe.
    Jelle suggested I could be a "Virtuoso shade" of SeFi. In response to this I said, essentially:
    "Virtuoso shade makes sense - not to call myself a virtuoso as in 'high skill level' but.. my personality is geared toward that sort of things, if that makes sense.  Mastering some skill to channel something."
    I'm obsessive. I cannot begin to explain how obsessive. My music is not just songs - there's a whole planet, vision, story, alter-egos and philosophy attached.  Easy to see here:
    Erosian Exile
    I sang through my whisper until I absolutely couldn't anymore due to excessive symptoms, made my own videos until the illness took away my hair, gave me serious TMJ so my face was lopsided and made me gain tons of weight.. and now I'm working on this series of complex novels; and I was terrible with words.

    In this video I pose as both the man and the woman. There's a whole story attached.
    Legend of Erosia
    I even mused over how this worked with my cognitive functions, many times before receiving my definite typing.
    Alter-Egos and Functions
    It's blatantly obvious that I'm obsessive, perfectionistic, focused on long-term trajectory, have a strong sense of purpose etc. I don't live moment to moment, I don't have open ends, and I don't see any other options. I also don't care for 'fun' for the sake of it. To me, fun is taking my camera out and shooting the next video with someone I love. Fun is obsessing over typology because it helps me understand my fictional characters and helps me get better at putting my ideas in words. Fun is editing a chapter in my book for the 150th time and finally seeing a result I'm happy with.  Randomness, newness, surprises, changes and "experiences" for the sake of experience, don't do it for me.
    Does any other Pe lead relate to this, or am I an outlier?

    Could this be somehow tied to Se, or at least more likely for Se than for Ne in general? Although not Se-lead, FiSe Michael Jackson had a similar single-trajectory focus, near obsession with perfecting his one craft. One of the few people to have written a note to himself about all he was going to do in the future and then actually do it all. I haven't really delved into how much Fi-lead influences this too, just an Se observation for now. From what has cropped up so far in the discord discussions, it seems Se may have some sort of trajectory-power which Ne lacks.
    I look forward to further input here, especially from the Ne leads. Do we all float around with no aim other than fun for the hell of it? ;p

    @Shelley-Lorraine
    The engineer that recorded my album compared me to Michael Jackson. He had worked with him, and many other celebrities, personally - but out of all, he thought to compare me to Jackson because of how obsessive I was about each sound. He said Jackson would fill up three stories of recording studios with different groups of string instrument players - and he would listen to the orchestra playing some 10-second interlude in his song. He would walk through all the rooms looking for the best one, then kick them all out and order more players until he got exactly what he wanted. My engineer told me this would be me if I had the budget, and that aside from me and Michael he never met anyone like this, in all his years of working in music. 😀  He also said both of us were hung up on what each sound means and that it conveys the right feeling, not just the sound. Each sound, for me and him, had a specific message embedded in it.
    And this is exactly why I wonder about FiSe sometimes. I also got compared to Tori Amos all the time because of how I look and seem, my 'affect.' She's also a single-minded visionary FiSe.
    I know I fit in with the FiSe's but I'm wondering where I fit with SeFi, Pe or Se lead. To be clear, I can see that my personal rhythm moment to moment is perfect for SeFi III-  but I'm wondering why psychologically I can't find my match in another Pe lead, in this way. I'm very curious what people will write too!

    Your story is really touching, @Animal !
    To be honest, I'm not sure if Se has more of a trajectory focus than Ne. I don't have that much of a trajectory focus and I am SeFi.
    I did study hard to become a lawyer and I put a lot of effort into it. But I am also pretty much open to any alternative that would be decent and bring a similar income. 🙂 So I don't have to remain a lawyer for life or even to remain in this field; I would do something else if I saw any better alternative.
    But I am focused. I can become obsessed of stuff. I just usually get obsessed about stuff that has nothing to do with my career. 🙂 And I couldn't make a career out of the type of things that make me obsessive...because usually what gets me ticking is somehow on the spiritual side. Or has very little practical use. Like once I got obsessed with what the order of the Major Arcana in tarot meant. And I was reading everything about it. Tarot history stuff. And arranging and rearranging the cards on the floor. You know, like a lunatic. :))
    And I couldn't make a career out of this type of stuff. At least not in Romania and not having the family and the background that I have. I can't say it would have been impossible, just that it seemed very unlikely to happen. And I am pretty realistic. So I decided to have a normal job, try to obtain a good income and to have enough excitement at work in order to not feel bored...and well, explore the stuff that I liked in my free time.
    But since I am quite focused on what is happening each moment, I sometimes lost focus on the type of things that bring me in obsessive state and became more focused on work. 🙂 Though my job is, as I probably mentioned before, not a vocation. But it is pretty exciting and has fun parts. And I can focus on it and work on improving myself and on learning more legal stuff. It's just that I still can't see it as a..calling.
    But it's not as if I would dream all day long to do something else and I wouldn't do it...I have no idea what else to do. And my job is pretty good compared to most jobs. I am collaborating with very nice people, I am being heard and respected, things change all the time and I have to adapt. I'm not highly fascinated by legal issues but I enjoy the general atmosphere, the action, the tension, the urgency, the focus, the revising, yeah, it's not perfect but it's good, it's a good job, I would be ungrateful to say otherwise.
    I think maybe you are more trajectory oriented because you are actually more J than P. Because you have two J functions developed and only one P function. Do you think this could be the case?

    @Bera

    I have that kind of focus too! I always attributed it to my aspie-ness. Someone in my witchy group said its a sign of a higher state of consciousness, lol - I don't know about that. He said I need to learn to harness that power rather than let it have power over me.
    I can spend days, weeks, longer, on a topic of hyper-interest. I'll not be able to do much else, even if I'm thirsty or hungry or have other important things to do. And then the phase ends and I go back to my usual Ne-self. Not that I necessarily lose interest in whatever it was, but I've satisfied the excess passion for the time being.

    @Shelley Lorraine, exactly ! It's the same. I love some topics and get into research mode and obsess about them for a couple of weeks or maybe months, but after that I usually get out of that state and get back to my more normal way of operating - enjoying life and looking for new ideas and opportunities.
    I'm curious about your witchy group. I would love to be part of something like that. I have some friends who thought we should start meeting up and trying some spells. 🙂 Like very soft spells, attracting love and happiness and stuff like that. Or just purifying our minds. (Who am I fooling? we are actually trying to obtain world domination by black magic, using intense focus on a flipped pentagram and luring evil spirits with our high sensuality, in order to trap them forever and ask them to do our bidding :)) ).
    Anyway, we didn't try any spells yet. 🙁
    But I tried some on my own some time ago. There was a kissing spell that came true. :))
    We should maybe open a new thread about witchy things? 🙂 <3
    Oh, maybe they aren't necessarily spells, but an attunement to Nature or to the Universe. I just said spells because me and my friends were actually really talking about spells and because you mentioned witchy things, so I made that correlation but it might be completely wrong. 🙂
    So, a thread about witchy things, not necessarily spells. <3

    @Bera
    Not long reply (I'm supposed to be cooking dinner and I don't want to derail too much here)
    but....
    yes, I do spells and stuff too. I've turned down a less woo-centric path lately, but I am still a witch and I still do spellwork 😉 you should start a thread and I'll reply later 🙂

    Purpose? Yes, but it's an abstract sense of purpose, so there are multiple means by which that could be fulfilled. I don't have a sense of I must do ___. It's a little bit more about what needs to be done to make the world great balanced against what I need to be happy.
    During bouts of depression, all of living feels purposeless. Not my life specifically, but existence itself.

    @Shelley Lorraine - I will. I tried to start one yesterday evening, but I wrote a lot and derailed from the topic and then just dropped it. 🙂 I will start it when I feel it's the right time,
    @Tea - yes, I also think a lot about what needs to be done. More than about what I must do as in what is my destiny or my life path. I used to think about that when I was younger though. But it seemed to be an unsolvable issue, a question without an answer, so I decided to accept a more fluid way of living, I guess.

    I definitely do but before about a year ago, it was "I will do this one day!" for decades. That turned into angst and self-sabotage in all the things I was doing to avoid doing what I have been thinking about since like 15. That changed in 2017 but it really came to a head in 2018. Now that my life is more and more aligned (and aligning) with that inner sense of "what I should be doing with my life", the trajectory is getting sharper and more linear, bringing in all the other things I wanted to do but also didn't do, in a weird woo-formed (it feels like) grand plan. It had never occurred to me before they could all be part of one story. They seemed so scattered. It's interesting to witness.
    I think for Ne, the trajectory is first about "finding what I should do", before it can turn into the linear pursuit of a destiny that looks like a 'trajectory'. Problem is, that first phase can take a person decades to their entire life! Which is its own special struggle. What I've discovered for myself is that I always knew what to do, deep down. I just didn't allow myself to know it, really hear it, and trust it. The twinkling lights of other ideas, thoughts, notions, possibilities, always managed to make it murky, not to mention ideas/notions/fears from society/family/friends etc.
