Visual Description

The eyes remain fixed forward, staying open rather blankly while the person talks. Their eyes will be disconnected from the animation of the mouth or other facial muscles, retaining their focus rather independent from the rest of the face.

Psychology Description

This signal reveals a psyche that is disengaged from the present, and drifting through the bowels of memory. While they have a fixed gaze, their eyes will be almost entirely inattentive towards what lies in their line of sight; their mental attention having retreated inward for information. This signal reveals a person with a tendency to become absorbed in their own stored concepts and worldviews, going to them first as their explanations for things which they encounter.
