    Happy New Year!
Umm, so I usually don't do cliche threads like this, but I figured it might be cool if it had some questions to go along with it. 🙂

    1. How did you feel about 2019? How was the year for you?
    2. What do you hope to accomplish this year?
    3. How do you feel about 2020 in general? What do you think will happen worldwide?

Hey ! Happy New Year !
2019 was my first year in the CT forum and discord chat, so, despite many issues that didn't develop as I wished in my real life, I am glad I met you guys ! I can not express how grateful I am. Some people here provided emotional support in many difficult moments (like when dad went through a surgery) and others gave me practical advice that helped me in concrete situations (especially connected to health).
We are a community of diverse people, with different skills and expertise and everyone is open to learn about a lot of different topics and also to encourage others on their path, which I totally love !
I think this is basically the highlight of 2019. 🙂
Regarding the second question - it's hard for me to build a coherent mental picture of a whole year, so I can't say concretely what I would like to achieve, as in specific purposes, that carry deep meaning to me...but I made a list of New Year's resolutions, that I recently posted on an app, and maybe I could share that? But it's a bit long...since the group decided we should each set 20 resolutions for 2020. 🙂
But in the end, maybe someone feels inspired to do something similar, so here it is - I copied and pasted it below because I can't share the whole list in just one image :

    1. Drink at least 4 glasses of water / day. (I know 8 is ideal, but I'm trying to start somewhere :)) )
    2. Walk 20 for 20. 🙂 ( at least 20 minutes per day...I will make this 40, I think, I walk 20 minutes every day anyway)
    3. Reduce time spent on a certain app to 2 hours/day during weekdays and 4 hours/day on weekends.
    4. Go to bed at 12 p.m. (breaking this one right now)
    5. Do all necessary tests and treatments to get the throat problem cured (analyze and decide future steps to follow each weekend)
    6. Pay 1000 lei/month to ANAF (the Romanian fiscal authorities) to close off debt.                                                          7. Pay my bills on time every month.
    8. Read at least 20 books ! 🙂
    9. (I can't share it here; it's connected to learning/acquiring a skill)
    10. Finish the tarot course I will start soon !
    11. Do at least one tarot reading per week.
    12. Watch at least 20 movies. (I loved these types of resolutions when I saw them on other people's lists !! <3)
    13. Go to 20 cultural events (including concerts, plays, art exhibitions, opera etc).
    14. Join and finish at least 3 other courses connected to my career or hobbies. (Jeez, these are all Pe resolutions :))) )
    15. Do a good deed/week IRL (unconnected to the online communities I am part of). - because I'm obviously doing a lot of good deeds here :))
    16. Swim at least once/month.
    17. (I can't share this one here either - it's something career related though)
    18. Do my worksheet every day. No more payment delays because I haven't finished my worksheets !
    19. Finish signing all contracts on my desk in 24 hours.
    20. Answer all office e-mails of average difficulty in 24 hours.

This is really all I can do for now - I decided to try to improve everything by taking little steps and turning them into habits over time. Maybe a clearer vision and sense of purpose will develop in time, but the most important is to at least do these things !
I don't know what to say to answer your third question, I hope some Pi leads step in with some ideas !
Later edit : see how number 7 jumped to the right? It is because most probably I will not pay all my bills on time. 🙁

Yay for cheezy threads lol XD
2019 was an interesting year for me, I had both a lot of great things, and some not so great things happen. But overall, I feel like it was a year of healing and homecoming; I feel more grounded in who I am and know where I belong, and have found my Tribe ^^ As far as collectively tho, it was a crappy year (year of the pig on the lunar calendar, imagine that!) By the end there was a lot of negative synchronicity happening to errybody because of the universal angst >,<
My new years resolution is to become more accountable and aligned with my own ethics, and responsible 😮 I have the goal of completely supporting myself and having my own place by the end of Feb. Also to be punctual.. ehehe ;p
    too much Pness!!!!
Speaking of Pness, anyone wanna join a couple of TiNe's, a FiNe and chill NiTe at Burning Man this year? yesyes? Hit me up ^^
I feel like 2020 is gonna be an overall upswing from last year, but it'll also be a rocky transition. Enantiodromia dictates that there will be a social/political push in the opposite direction from where we've been going, but tensions are left high and we might see more conflict break out. If there's gonna be war, it'll probably start this year, but 2021 feels like it will likely be a time of resolution so I think the turmoil will be brief if it does happen.
Also 2019 was the seeding, 2020 is the transmutation, and 2021 will be the manifestation.. I feel we are in the midst of a rather profound shift..

ahh, easy questions for those of us who are less theoretically inclined

    1.
How did you feel about 2019? How as the year for you?
good  id say i mainly enjoyed it
    2. What do you hope to accomplish this year?
getting ahead on my finances would be nice  id also like to make some creative progress with a few of my passions
    3. How do you feel about 2020 in general? What do you think will happen worldwide?
2020, will be... not as exciting as we think. A generally bland year. The beginning of the year will be charged with excitement until around February or march but it will be pretty bland. June will be cool. But I'm biased. Its my birthday month. World wide we will see progress in a direction of slowing down and evaluating where technology is taking us and become more thoughtful concerning the protection of our resources and the natural world.

@bera I immediately burst out laughing when I saw your edit... but I am rooting for the bills being paid on time ?
    1) 2019 was more abysmal than celestial for me. Echoing what Bera said above, the CT community as a whole, and several people in particular, played a very large role in the happiness I was able to find this year, and I become overfilled with emotion when I think of the generosity and kindness that was shown to me, but I’ll leave off for now.
    2) Here’s a poem instead (formatting not ideal but w/e):
Hold me the way the Sun holds Earth / Without touch, wet satellite charred by wants.
Love me the way a corporation loves / Goons sans substance, paid exclusively in “trust”.
Hurt me the way the psyche hurts the soul: / Ignorant partner in a bed of thorns.
End me the way Buddha ends death: / Drawn and severed from selfless breaths.
    3) I think it likely that the Year of the Rat will be better for me than the Year of the Pig ?

@bera - your words are really heartwarming. Funny where close friendships can emerge, eh? I'm so glad this community could act as a home and support for you and others. I think I do have a desire to create that sort of space and am really happy you feel that way. But that's only possible because of a bunch of great people here. Srsly, there's some real goodwill in this community.

    1. How did you feel about 2019? How was the year for you?

At a personal level, this was a tough year for me. I had to face a lot of big choices, and uproot myself from where I was. Start over. But I was also the most creatively productive I've been in ages - and I really placed my willpower into reality. Most of that went to CT, where I feel an irrepressible calling and challenge to meet it.
It's kindof hard to remember what CT was like before 2019.. we didn't have this forum, we didn't have the function profiles or the wiki, we didn't have the dev levels done, or the database, or codifier. I feel as though so much has happened in the last year that it's becoming something way bigger. I guess I feel a little proud of myself for getting this far, knowing how little energy I have.

    2. What do you hope to accomplish this year?

Personally, I want to grow closer to my girlfriend (hey you ) and study many books. Tackle that Si. We've been reading books together and it's been incredibly self-expanding.
Professionally (heh, "professionally") I want to build a small team of high-consensus readers by Feb and do some garage science pilot studies. I want to finish the profiler by March, which is essential before going public. And I want to finally create a youtube presence by mid March with a decent production level/quality. By the end of the year I want Cognitive Type to rattle up the typology community and do it with user friendly digests -- not that this is the end goal, but just the beginning. I'll check back in next year to see how I did.

    3. How do you feel about 2020 in general? What do you think will happen worldwide?

    Spoiler

Well, I'm pretty sure SpaceX will demonstrate the capabilities of Starship as the world's first ultra-heavy fully reusable spacecraft, opening access to space at an unprecedentedly low price. They will also bring American astronauts to the ISS from American soil again. Tesla will finally bring autonomous driving cars to the roads, but there will be some deaths, big press blowups and of course legislative controversies. (By 2022-2023 this anxiety will stabilize, new laws will pass on autonomous car regulations, and other carmakers will be trying to catch up.)
Virtual reality will see another generation of products-- now with integrated hand tracking and full body tracking, eye tracking and face tracking (for emotions). But it will still escape the mainstream until one or two more generations (2024/2025), at which point it'll progressively become as normal a part of our lives as smartphones have become.
(Err, I could go on forever about this, so I'll just mention these!)

    Happy 2020. 🙂
    1. I can honestly say I've gotten somewhere in terms of personal development (one of my main goals in life since an epiphany 12 years ago). For one thing, of course, I stumbled into CT just a month ago, and am super grateful for this.
Also, I can see my progress when going back and reading through my dream journal, as well as comparing posts I wrote in some support groups to my present situation.
As far as physical health, I've made one unprecedented accomplishment this year, and started a couple other really nice habits (running and swimming).
    2. Well, although I've been setting new year's resolutions since at least 1995, this year I decided to only set some intentions, because I realized that when I force myself to accomplish things, I am actually conditioning my self-love upon their achievement in an imagined future, which is actually worse for me (more insidious/self-sabotaging) than not accomplishing any of the things.
Nevertheless, I hope to digitally detox my phone, and to grow in my level of self-awareness / consciousness. Also to move to another city.
    3. I generally try to avoid making predictions, but I may have a slight inkling / hope that it will be calmer than a lot of people fear on a worldwide scale, esp. regarding the climate. Don't know if it will be because of the Green New Deal, though.

    1. How did you feel about 2019? How was the year for you?
I've been struggling with illness - sometimes struggling even to breathe - so my own personal progress has been slower than ever.  Since I can't exercise and exert my will toward tangible goals with the type of focus I usually possess, I've been manic and anxious, even angry.  I cannot say I've been my best self. But in the midst of all this, I spent a lot of time online and met some truly beautiful people, such as the ones here. I've been honored to be part of this project in any small way, and to oversee the Enneatude-Archetribe project. My usual focus is more personal, but opening up socially, focusing more on others, group projects and politics - has allowed me insight into some beautiful souls. I wouldn't take that back for the world. But my spirit cannot sustain a life where I'm not funneling my energy into my deepest purpose every day.  So I am thrilled that I was able to wrap up the decade by pursuing new 'up and coming' medical solutions which I'll be implementing in the new year.
That said, things have been amazing with @Ivory . This year saw some big victories for us as a couple and I could not be more grateful for his presence in my life and in this universe <3 . I am also excited for the Archetribe forum, which allows us to continue exploring typology and archetypes with the amazing people we've met, and also leaves room for me to take time to myself and express things that matter to me outside typology.  Moving the project away from facebook has helped disentangle me from the interpersonal heat.
    2. What do you hope to accomplish this year?

    • My part of the editing for Book 1 will be finished by the end of the month, but I hope also to publish this year.
    • Move to another state with Ivory in September!
    • Get through the first round (or two) of a major difficult treatment for illness; also start on fixing my jaw
    • Lose 15-20 pounds, instill my old workout schedule
    • Film a few more of the music videos before we move
    • Sell or get rid of much of our stuff to prepare for moving & starting anew

    3. How do you feel about 2020 in general? What do you think will happen worldwide?
I have strong ideas on this but if I say them, I may invite conflict.  It's ok to be explicit on my own forum.. but over here, perhaps rude. I think I'll pass on this round. 😉
