Are you asking about the concept of Zen or its relation to Ti? I think Zen is associated with Ti because of its default neutral attitude on things, which I imagine creates this experience of tranquility.
But if I may, I think Fi can be pretty neutral too. Maybe the difference is, in my case, I have these pockets of worldviews from which I can switch and see things according to how you want to take it. This mental neutrality has nothing to do with my decisions on the whim. I'm not completely devoid of my preferences, I still have that streak of weird randomness when it comes. Is that the difference?
It seems to me Zen attitude requires some amount of Pi into it, but cmiiw.
