It’s very hard for me to ’emote’ out my feelings or display them in/with my body. I can do it in writing a little more, but mostly it’s stuck in a conceptual domain. So I can find myself talking about how my emotions work, almost as a concept. It’s not impossible for me to be physically visceral but it’s certain unnatural for me personally.

This is very interesting. For me, probably because I am the opposite type, it's very hard to avoid displaying them ! They just show on my face, in my movements, in my voice...
In writing of course I can show what part of my emotions I want and they become useful in connecting to people. I am absolutely not an adept of sharing everything I feel with everyone and I am actually quite reserved, at least compared to Animal or even to Staas. I usually analyze a lot if writing something is beneficial or not. There are exceptions but I am talking about what I usually do. 🙂
I do something similar when I speak to people but I think the filter is more loose than the one I use in writing. There is still a lot of reviser doubt but sometimes I am just being very honest without thinking about the consequences. Luckily I have good intentions and this can be seen, so even if I say something that is not very wise, most of the times there are no significant consequences.
But despite my general aim to be reserved and to control what I express and the way I express it, my emotions really show in my body language. People can directly see what I feel and there is not much to do about it. 🙁
So, you alpha NTs are pretty lucky that you don't "emote" with your bodies. You really don't want to do that, it's horrible !!! Basically it means anyone can see what you feel...any time. :/ You can't play poker ! You can't bargain for a cheaper price because the seller can see you love the product ! You can't fake you agree with your boss ! And it doesn't even look good, as you probably noticed. :))
