Hi!
I'm excited to introduce the first video in the new CT series --
If all goes well, part 2 will be out in a week or so. This video is setting the groundwork for future subjects, which will breeze through key topics in a (hopefully) digestible and user-friendly way. I know CT has been lacking a social media presence, and we'll be seeing that change this year.
Hope you enjoy!
Yay, exciting! Very profesh ๐ Just out of curiosity, where do the M, V, EDA, and ALE names come from?
Thanks! I could have polished it a bit more but I'm forcing myself to call it 'good enough'. lol

Well, they could have been anything, so my rendition of the names took creative license. However, the logic to the name choice is explained in the very last chapter of the book. They are linguistic metaphors for the operations of the processes.

This was good! The graphics look great and crisp and you do a good job explaining. I would however mic your interviewer. It sticks out because of the rest of the video looks so professional so not having a properly mic'ed (micced?) person throws it off a little.
You had mentioned this in a post somewhere but because of other typology system interest I have my whole biological family (two parents, three children- one of them being me) on video. You said that might be helpful? If so, where can I put the videos?
Thanks!
Yea, I'm definitely taking some notes on what to do better for video #2, and I think better audio is one of the things.
Another is I gotta tone down the slide transitions and/or vary it up a bit. And refocus the camera better, and look at the camera more, and and and...

You can post videos of people to be typed in this board: https://cognitivetype.com/forums/forum/vultology-learning-center/ And ask if anyone would like to give their type a go. ๐ Answers may vary based on a member's typing experience/etc. But we have some pretty good readers here, especially given the latest vultology quiz.
(And of course there's always the vultology reports, in case you'd like to get an official reading.)
Very nice presentation overall, good work with the motion graphics. Solid explanation as well, it's great to see you fleshing out the fundamental basis of the theory like this! I agree Bella needs a mic, but it's not such a big deal if you don't have one ๐ A couple notes, if they can be helpful.. In the part where it shows Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta with the CT designations the text disappears too quickly. If you leave it up for another beat it'll be easier to read. Also the paragraph: 'Preliminary support for this hypothesis can be seen by examining how human expressive patterns self-organize around organic clusters, and the people belonging to these clusters all share key similarities in their information processing.'
The grammar is off, it needs a 'how' before 'the people':
'...around organic clusters, and how the people...'
Other than that this is pretty clean though! Looking forward to the rest of the series ๐
@Auburn
love it aub, cool that u going all professional-y now.
as this is going to become a regular thing + a lot of work...these suggestions are primarily what i think would make it easier-viewing for the audience and help present you and Cognitive Type better...
i know a little bit about film-making + pacing, and you're also gonna get a lot of my taste, so here we go:
-----
. if you wear darker grey or black, you will have a body ๐
. if you move slightly further away from the camera in the closer shots, and get some more of your torso in, it'll be less clustered/claustrophobic.
as much as i love ur face aub, it's too intimate for this style of presentation IMHO.
half expecting u to burst out into zoom-memery.
. diagonal slide transitions could be replaced with fade from black or something less jarring/disorientating like consistent page-flips or left-to-right peels (such as the same animations as the "left-right" reading text-popups).
there's a lot of action going on here and not much chance for audience to find a spot, or orientate to look or read.
they could be removed all-together without disruption to the flow of the video.
. if youre going to be known as "auburn", put that up in text too, "aka auburn" or something..."also known as...", not as a new slide or popup, somewhere under with your regular full name
. delayed showing of "Cognitive Typology" title-screen and other doodas at 0:15 so that you may introduce yourself properly instead of disappearing off the screen as-soon u arrived.
"Cognitive Type" can be shown just before/after stating your hypothesis and what you are doing.
alternatively, "Cognitive Typology" at the beginning of the video, so that when you are fully introduced, you then move into explaining what you're doing, and the video stage is set.
it could also be shown at 5:48 "that's why this model is called Cognitive Typology", also.
. "Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta" are not shown at the time that you narrating/pronouncing them (ABGD), the incoming "ABGD" box animation can be removed, the exit of "ABGD" box animation would still make-sense, that way the audience can read-along with you.
"Redundant" etc disappears before you narrate/highlight it.
. george and the other guy at "Embodied Cognition" can have their names somewhere on their slide (i wasnt able to catch their names either), to make it absolutely clear who they are + not just random background typology people, for ppl who are interested in searching for them also.
. "then we cannot ignore our own embodied expressions"...as you just showed the differences between a cat and a dog and their movements, consider adding two distinctly different people side-by-side here also, instead of one after the other - it would make it clearer.

alright that wraps it up, goodluck with the next one!
okays, so i applied some of the edits and re-uploaded. i wonder what you guys think of the changes, and if it looks better? thanks!
i'm not able to make many changes to the video footage, including the over-zooming or tshirt (so that'll have to be for next time
), but i made edits to the transitions and some improvements to the interviewer's (bella) voice clarity.
lol you didn't fix the grammar >,<
I'd call it good tho, it's a solid presentation and I think it's more important to work on the next video than to nitpick this one to death XP
Iโve been considering what happens when genetics are heterozygous rather than homozygous. If you have genetic activation of all factors and (rather than a dominant/recessive system) and then environment and usage determines the development path, then its possible that heterozygous genotype would allow potential for shadow function usage, especially if someone is challenged psychologically and their existing functions canโt do the job. From what I can gather the antagonism between some pairing is not overly strong, the obvious being combined Ni and Ne usage(I would say I use a Ni modelling space during complexly system analysis that once perfected can be downloaded to Si).
And then there is the elephant in the room, Anxious /HSP Fe/Ti types could easily be pushed into Fi Shadow usage due to introspection, and thus generate signals and typology that is not consistent with their genetic/original type/psychological type. Of course that doesnโt disprove the model, the model based on healthy development, but its a factor that needs to be looked out for and controlled. Native Fi users are normally easy to identify by their ethics of individuality from psychological typing, emotionality could simulate many of the Fi/Te signals. Of course a Native Fi user could also be pushed into Shadow Fe usage if their ego is crushed.
