Absolutely. Specially the bold. Emotions are somatic yet distinct from sensations. So I guess we could say: Sensations are a broad category that includes emotions, yet not all sensations are emotions. For sure boredom is not an emotion unless we include our responses to it (like anger or sadness)
YES!

Oh, I'm sorry, @hrafn, I forgot you mentioned shame. That's most def an emotion in my book! A fundamental one. I think I was more thinking of the process of recollecting it rather than the content you're recollecting. My bad. I know what you mean and I agree. I also agree with this:
I, too, have a pretty clear subjective sense about what’s an e…

I agree with everything, except how you’re describing this energy. It’s definitely a kind of power, as is emotion, but emotions are a particular way it manifests: I wouldn’t it the same as them in 1:1 way. On @alerith‘s thread about emotions, I noted that emotions are a motivational force/power behind the will. I don’t agree with Puff that they…

As to the OP question, I'll buck the trend here and say I do get bored. But then I'll soon get lost in my thoughts. If I have something to write on (i.e. to express my insights), then no. Lol, @auburn, you diagnostician, he he!
I’m the guinea pig for once.
I wonder what others think of my communication style, as perhaps I’m blind to my own effect.
But with @animal ‘s communication style, I notice that:
1) There’s the immediate visceral reaction
2) Then there’s the essentialist complaint
I could be wrong, but that’s how it appear…

In fact, here’s a wild hypothesis: to some extent each of the four EQs seems like it represents a different way of dealing with emotional energy.
It's not wild at all, it's right on the money! Only I think it's psychic or soul energy or the life force (What Jung called libido).
That’s not to say that F-functions don’t handle emotion in th…

I guess, to me, emotions are things my heart does and sensations are things my body does? Boredom in fact seems like something my mind does, so it's weirdest to me (i.e. to describe it as an emotion). Still thinking about how to describe the difference. It's definitely there, even if I can't quite articulate it . . .
