Today was stressful; however, it wasn't a bad day.
The problem is just my obsession with ensuring I do everything in my power to help students develop into sharp-wits and better writers....
This is apparently too much to ask for; however, I cannot be so unfair to say I'm not the problem in some capacity. After all, I'm the professor, so their…Read more

A student schooled me on a critical mistake I made concerning their assignment for this week.
Of course this took place right after I had expressed a great deal of anger concerning the fact that many students have neglected buying the class text despite telling them numerous times.
Of course, in my common fashion, my talents in self-starting leave me quite unproductive.
The need to set myself on a consistent schedule grows daily.

Today I spent some time thinking.
Very often, when I see myself slipping into an existential dread, I turn to art.
And I don't mean that in the traditional sense. I don't paint, write poetry or stories, but everything I say, write, or do starts to stand out as a sort of artistic endeavor.
It's common I get overwhelmed in these times, for I often…Read more

What is your name? Or the story behind your alias?
Alexander, but I tend to go by Alex. However, I have very little preference. Alexander the Less is the name I adopted after making a huge effort to wipe my old screen name out of the digital memory of people I knew. I wanted to change my identity, so I adopted Alexander the Less, an obvious play…Read more
