That was part of my recent rationality for removing ‘ego’ from the matching system equation.
It seems far more complex a matter than a preference for just one function.
Some people have their ego in their T/F/N/S abilities, but others have in on their ethnicity, height, job, etc. It can be anything, it seems. And not everyone has an ego fix on a function.
That’s right, @auburn. The ego is consciousness/awareness vis-a-vis oneself. It’s not possible to demarcate where the boundaries of consciousness lie in a person vis-a-vis the unconscious. It could literally be anything. And as I said, there’s also the problem of people not relating to descriptions due to misunderstandings, where it feels like “not me” because the person thinks it’s implying something it’s not. Best avoided as a general type designation thing though we might still explore it in other contexts in CT. 🙂
